What is NRHH?
NRHH stands for the National Residence Hall Honorary and is a nationwide organization that represents the top 1% of student leaders in residence halls and recognizes the difference they make on the campus, regional and national levels. In addition, NRHH is IRHC’s sister organization. The four pillars of NRHH are recognition, service, leadership, and scholastics.
Each chapter is unique the school, and at NYU we are the The Torch Chapter. Our chapter was established in 2004 and we have a membership of approximately 110, which is our cap.
What does NRHH do?
Our primary purpose is to foster recognition of people & programs—which we do through Of-the-Month awards, or OTMs. We also have weekly GA meetings that members attend to network, write OTMs & decide on winning OTMs and monthly leadership development workshops.
What is an OTM?
An OTM is a written statement that explains how a person or program has made a positive, meaningful impact during the month for which it is submitted. It’s a way to recognize the great things people do each month! We also present “Of the Year” (OTY) awards at the end of each year to highlight individuals and programs of excellence.
How are OTMs submitted?
OTMs are due on the last day of every month at 11:59PM and submitted online through this website (there is a tab at the top of the page that says “Submit Your OTMs”). Guidelines and tips for writing OTMs can be found there as well.
Who/What is eligible to get nominated?

INDIVUDAL: Advisor, Hall Council E-Board Member, Hall Council GA Member, RA FYRE, RA Upper, Community, ProStaff, Faculty, RCA/OA, Spotlight

How does the OTM process work?
OTMs are submitted at the campus level and selected by the NRHH e-board & GA on the first Tuesday of every month. Winning OTMs are submitted to the regional level, where the winners are then submitted for consideration at the national level.
How do you become an NRHH member?
Membership in NRHH is attained through an application process. Interested candidates are nominated and asked to fill out an application before being invited for an interview. New members are inducted on a bi-annual basis, and members tend to be student leaders who have shown a commitment to community service and recognition.
